Career pathways for Nurse PractitionersStarting as a new grad NP
VCH offers a supportive environment with tailored orientation for new graduates. Our Nurse Practitioner Advanced Education Programs include 200 hours of advanced education and clinical mentorship over the first six months to support the transition to independent practice.
The curriculum is a mix of didactic lectures and hands-on workshops on relevant topics including splinting, suturing, and procedural skills. Advanced Education Programs are currently available for Acute Care, Emergency Department, and Urgent and Primary Care Centres.
