Dr. Kalia is an Associate Professor and Associate Head of the Department of Dermatology and Skin Science at the University of British Columbia. His interest focuses on lasers, photodermatology, pediatrics and skin cancer. Dr. Kalia received a Professional-Investigator Program award from the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research to study skin cancer prevention and early diagnosis. He is the past president of the Dermatology Society of BC. He works as a dermato-oncologist at BC Cancer and is part of the Department of Cancer Control.
Dr. Kalia is also the Director of Clinical Trials at Vancouver General Hospital. He has worked on national surveys in collaboration with Statistics Canada to monitor cancer prevention and burden.
