Acute Home-Based Treatment (AHBT) - Richmond

Provides short-term care for Richmond residents age 17 and over with mental health and/or substance use concerns who are experiencing an acute increase in symptoms or distress. Care is provided in the home in order to avoid or shorten a hospital admission.

How to access

  • Check eligibility

    • Richmond residents aged 17 years old and over.

  • Get a referral

    Client must be referred by health-care professional.
     

    This Acute home based treatment program - Richmond referral form must be completed by a case manager, mental health clinician, physician, nurse practitioner or midwife and faxed to 604-244-5487.

Acute Home Based Treatment (AHBT) offers short-term care as an alternative to hospital for clients with mental illness, who are currently experiencing a worsening of their symptoms, in their home setting.
