Complex Joint Clinic and Arthritis Surgical Assessment Program is moving to UBC Hospital

The Vancouver Acute (VGH) Complex Joint Clinic and the Arthritis Surgical Assessment Program (ASAP) are moving to a new location at UBC Hospital.

  • Last day at Diamond Centre: Friday, May 9, 2025
  • First day at UBC Hospital: Tuesday, May 20, 2025

This move will bring together your care team—including doctors, physiotherapists, students, and researchers—all in one place.

The move is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality, safety, and overall experience for our patients and their families at Vancouver Coastal Health.

This clinic is intended to serve the needs of patients requiring hip and knee replacement and patients with existing replacements requiring further treatment (example: osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, failed arthroplasty (revisions), avascular necrosis, and hemi arthroplasty.

As part of the surgical triage process for hip and knee osteoarthritis, patient may see an ASAP advanced practice physiotherapist before you seeing an orthopedic surgeon.

The APP will help patients determine if speaking to a surgeon about joint replacement is right for patients. They may also discuss non-surgical treatment strategies for osteoarthritis or how to optimize patients for potential joint surgery.
