Long-term cardiac monitoring services use Holter, blood pressure and event monitoring devices to observe the heart over a long period.
What to expect
- A Holter monitor continuously records an electrocardiogram over 24 hours.
- Blood pressure monitors record blood pressure periodically over 24 hours.
- Event monitors record arrhythmia over a three to four-week span, which is transmitted via the telephone to the Cardiologist.
