Story Awards and recognition VCH staff ➞ October 31 2023 Construction begins on new UBC Faculty of Medicine Medical Education Centre In another significant step forward for the Richmond Hospital Redevelopment Project, construction has commenced on the relocated UBC Faculty of Medicine Medical Education Centre. This relocation is a necessary step to prepare for construction of the Yurkovich Family Pavilion, a nine-floor acute care tower. The new tower will have a larger emergency department, more operating rooms, a state-of-the-art intensive care unit, a fully equipped medical imaging department, a pharmacy, and short-stay pediatrics.
