Information bulletin ➞ August 10 2021 Public Health officials urge Lower Mainland residents to take precautions during anticipated high temperatures LOWER MAINLAND, B.C. – A Heat Warning was issued on August 10 by Environment Canada which advised of increasing temperatures from Thursday Aug. 12 through to Sunday Aug. 15. Medical Health Officers for both Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Fraser Health (FH) are again urging residents to take precautions to protect themselves and those who are vulnerable from the health risks associated with sustained high temperatures. Information bulletin ➞ July 30 2021 Take steps to minimize exposure to smoky air this weekend Lower Mainland, B.C. — As well as the heat warning issued this week by Environment Canada, Metro Vancouver is monitoring conditions associated with wildfire smoke from fires burning in the interior of B.C. and Washington. Wildfire smoke models are forecasting that smoke from these fires may reach parts of Metro Vancouver on Saturday and continuing in to Sunday. A change in the weather on Monday is forecast to bring onshore winds to help clear the smoke.
